Why we built this
Finding a reliable HVAC contractor in Atlanta shouldn't require three hours of research, four unanswered voicemails, and a gamble that whoever shows up actually holds a valid state license. When your AC quits in August, you need accurate information fast — not a list of companies that paid for top placement.
HVACListing.com is a local contractor directory built for homeowners. We're not a lead generation service. We don't sell your contact information to six contractors the moment you search. We don't charge for top placement or invent "Best of Atlanta" badges. We publish what we can verify, label everything else clearly, and get out of the way.
We launched in Atlanta because Georgia has a functioning state licensing system for HVAC contractors through the Georgia Construction Industry Licensing Board — meaning we can display real credential data, not just names scraped from a map. Tampa and Denver follow as markets two and three.

Contractors cannot pay for higher placement. Claimed listings appear before unclaimed ones because they have verified contact info — that's it. No auction, no sponsored slots, no premium tiers affecting search order.

Any contractor can request removal of their listing at any time via our takedown page. Every request is processed within 48 hours — no questions, no fee.
How we verify contractors
License verification
Georgia requires HVAC contractors to hold an active Conditioned Air Contractor license (Class I, II, or III) issued by the Georgia Construction Industry Licensing Board. We cross-reference contractor data against state records and display one of three statuses: License confirmed (active match found), License not verified (number on file, current status unconfirmed), or License unknown (no number in our records). We never fabricate or assume a status.
Insurance
Insurance status is self-reported by contractors who claim their listing. We don't independently verify certificates — confirm coverage directly with the contractor before work begins. Unclaimed listings show no insurance status.
Reviews
We only display factual business information from public records. We do not fabricate, collect, or display reviews at this time. No star ratings, testimonials, or aggregated scores appear on any listing.
Where listing data comes from
Business names, addresses, phone numbers, and license numbers are sourced from state licensing board records, Google Business data, and other public sources. We make no warranty of accuracy or completeness — which is why unclaimed profiles are clearly marked and contractors can claim and correct their listing at no cost.
