Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions about how HVACListing works? Here's what homeowners and HVAC contractors ask us most. If you don't find what you need, reach out at support@hvaclisting.com.
For Homeowners
How do I find a trustworthy HVAC contractor on this site?
Start by entering your city or zip code and selecting the type of service you need — AC repair, heating installation, emergency service, and so on. Every listing shows the contractor's license status and service area. Use that information to compare a few options, then contact the one that fits before calling.
Are the contractors on HVACListing verified?
We verify license status against public state records for each city we cover. Every profile clearly displays one of three statuses: License confirmed, License not verified, or License unknown — so you always know exactly what we've been able to check. We don't claim to have verified something we haven't. Insurance status is self-reported by contractors who have claimed their listing, and we label it as such.
Does HVACListing display reviews?
We list factual business information sourced from public records. We do not currently display third-party reviews. Listings show license status, service area, and contact information — no fabricated or aggregated ratings.
How do I contact a contractor I find here?
Each listing includes the contractor's phone number and website link. Click directly through — there's no lead form to fill out, no middleman collecting your information, and no fee for contacting a contractor. You're connecting with them directly.
Is HVACListing free to use?
Completely free for homeowners. We don't charge for search access, and we don't sell your contact information to contractors or lead brokers. The site is supported by contractor subscriptions and display advertising, which is clearly labeled on every page.
What cities does HVACListing currently cover?
We currently list HVAC contractors in Atlanta, GA, Tampa, FL, and Denver, CO. Each city has its own dedicated search with neighborhood-level filtering. We plan to expand to additional cities — sign up for updates at the bottom of the homepage.
For HVAC Business Owners
I found a listing for my business — did I agree to this?
No, you didn't need to. We build listings from publicly available business information — state licensing records, secretary of state filings, and similar sources. If your business holds an active HVAC contractor license and operates in one of our covered cities, you may have a listing. Your page is clearly labeled as unclaimed until you verify and take ownership of it.
How do I claim my listing?
Visit your business profile page and click "Claim This Listing." You'll verify your identity — typically by confirming your business phone number or email — and then you can update your information, add photos, set your service area, and start receiving inquiries. The whole process takes about five minutes.
What does a paid subscription include?
A claimed subscription gives you a fully editable business profile, priority placement above unclaimed listings in search results, a dedicated contact form for direct inquiries, and a personalized single-page website hosted at HVACListing. You also get a visible "Claimed" badge that tells homeowners your information is owner-verified.
How much does a subscription cost?
Subscriptions start at $299 per year — less than the margin on a single service call. There are no setup fees, no contracts beyond the annual term, and no surprise charges. Pricing is locked at your signup rate as long as you stay active.
What happens to my listing if I don't subscribe?
Your listing stays live as a free public resource built from public records. Unclaimed listings are clearly labeled as such and appear below claimed listings in search results. You can update or remove it at any time — you're never required to subscribe to manage your presence.
My business information is wrong. How do I fix it?
The fastest way is to claim your listing — that gives you direct edit access. If you just want to correct a specific error without subscribing, email us at support@hvaclisting.com with your business name and the correction, and we'll update it within 48 hours.
How do I get my business removed from the directory?
Reply "remove" to any email we sent you, or submit a takedown request at hvaclisting.com/takedown. We process all removal requests within 48 hours, no questions asked. Once removed, your listing will not be republished. If you received an email from us and just want to opt out of further contact, you can unsubscribe from that email directly.
Is my listing page hurting my SEO or business reputation?
No. Your listing page links to your own website and includes accurate public information — the same data that already exists in state licensing records and business registries. An unclaimed listing is effectively a citation pointing toward your business. Claiming it lets you control the information, add your own description, and appear higher in our directory results for local HVAC searches.
I operate in Atlanta, Tampa, and Denver. Do I need separate listings?
Each city has its own listing. If your business operates in multiple covered cities, you'll have a separate profile in each one. Subscriptions are priced per location — contact us at support@hvaclisting.com if you operate in more than one city and we'll discuss a multi-location arrangement.
